The Japanese Society of Clinical Immunology (JSCI) was established in 1973 to promote and advance clinical immunology and related areas. “Cross-sectional immunology aimed at breakthroughs in disease controls” is our role as clinical immunologists. The JSCI has held the annual scientific meeting to provide a platform for clinical immunologists to share knowledge on the disease control as well as disease mechanism since then.

The JSCI has recently decided to develop a structure for collaborating with the international community to propagate and consolidate clinical immunology and to promote the globalization of the JSCI in light of rapid developments in the field. In January 2021, the Society joined the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) as a member society. A JSCI international symposium will be launched in 2022.

The International Symposium of Clinical Immunology is the prime meeting organized by the JSCI. The first meeting will be held on April 2nd and 3rd in 2022 in Kitakyushu, Japan. Clinical and basic specialists across different immune diseases areas will get together on a common platform for deliberations in the region regarding all aspects of clinical immunology.

In consideration of the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the advantages to be gained from convening the meeting online, the meeting will be held mainly in a face-to-face onsite meeting, but live streaming online WEB participation will be allowed. We hope to have many participants at the 1st International Symposium of Clinical Immunology, which will lead to enormous progresses in basic and clinical aspects of clinical immunology.
